WAYRA 35K

Wayra means “wind” in Quechua, an invisible force that sweeps through the mountains, changes direction, and never stops moving forward. In the Puna, the wind is an inseparable part of the landscape: a constant presence that accompanies you, challenges you, and reminds you that here, nature always has the final say.

Starting near the Incahuasi Valley, at more than 3,000 meters above sea level, the course follows the Río Grande towards Tunalito, passing through local farms and wide-open landscapes. A first 500-meter positive elevation climb will mark the beginning of the true challenge.

After descending towards the Purmamarca River and passing through Chalala and the Quebrada de Coquena, the second major climb begins, heading towards Mirador El Paso. From there, the trail leads towards Cerro Los Colorados and finally to Purmamarca, where the finish line awaits beneath the watchful gaze of Cerro 7 Colores, at the “World’s Most Beautiful Field”, 2,300 meters above sea level.
