Amaru means “snake” in Quechua and holds a special place in the Andean worldview, where the snake is one of the sacred animals alongside the condor and the puma. Like a snake winding its way through the mountains, the Quebrada de Humahuaca opens and twists between hills, rivers, and ancient villages. This distance is born from that same connection with the land.

The adventure begins near by the Incahuasi Valley, at more than 3,000 meters above sea level, following the course of the Río Grande. The trail towards Tunalito will take you past local farms before facing a 500-meter positive elevation climb, offering privileged views of some of the most beautiful landscapes in Northern Argentina.

Then comes the descent towards the Purmamarca River, passing through Chalala and the Quebrada de Coquena, Cerro Los Colorados and, finally, the finish beneath the watchful gaze of Cerro 7 Colores, at the “World’s Most Beautiful Field”, 2,300 meters above sea level.
